Hello everyone and welcome to Pro Football Daily. My name is Chris Smith, former Senior Writer for Footballguys.com and prior to that, Owner of Tuffsports.com. It is my distinct pleasure to bring to you Pro Football Daily. I have always been a football fanatic since I was a toddler and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table. I played the game for ten years, have coached now for eight seasons and have been writing about the NFL and fantasy football for the past fifteen years.
My original education background was in Computerized Graphic Arts back in the day when Corel Draw and Photo Shop ruled the roost. I earned a diploma in the field and was working as a Sign Writing computer designer when I first started to dabble into website design. The first efforts at web site design were admittedly mediocre but people were finding the site, reading the content and mostly positive about the experience. That first site was called The Ultimate Fantasy Football. I was using some generic web design program as I knew nothing about HTML at the time.
I began to take classes on web design soon after and earned certification in HTML, Web Design, Web Business and eventually Java Script, MySQL, CSS and more. The Ultimate Fantasy Football became Tuff Sports and it was a dynamic, successful website for a few seasons before the floor fell out in regards to advertising dollars for myself and many others at the time.
David Dodds, who ran Mr. Football at the time and Joe Bryant, an online fantasy football guy who was well known decided to try and turn to a subscription based website in which nobody knew how successful or not it could be. I was one of the first Staff Writers on board with the idea and I can proudly say I played a role in the successful run of a very popular fantasy football site. Some of my popular features while with them included Beginning Guide to Fantasy Football, Fantasy Tidbits, Fantasy Football Draft Study and Player Spotlight which became one of the backbones of the site. I also was the Director of News for a few seasons when we ran our own news platform. Those two individuals are stand up guys and I enjoyed my time as an employee of Footballguys but I was beginning to get itchy to have the freedom and challenge of having my own project once again.
Due to coaching and time restraints and wanting to launch the site properly, I have taken some time to put it all together and I am proud to share Pro Football Daily with you today. I will have tons of stats, projections, fantasy rankings, articles, NFL analysis, news and other pro football tidbits to share with you throughout the year.
I have been published in many magazines throughout the years including FF Index and bring a wealth of experience and ability to both entertain you and help you achieve fantasy football success.
Some personal tidbits here. I am 43-years old, married since 1998 and blessed with three of the greatest children anyone could ask for. They are currently 21, 18 and 10 years old and I could my blessings daily for this wonderful ride through life I am on. I love all sports but football has always been my favorite and I love to write, read and draw in my spare time. I am also passionate about great food and barbequing and I am a movie junkie.
This website will provide my daily insight, thoughts and predictions about the NFL, the NFL Draft, players, statistics, fantasy football, projections, fantasy rankings and more. That's right my friends, you have come to the one-stop shop for all things fantasy football. Grab a nice cold beverage, sit back and enjoy my hard work, breaking down and analysing pro football, crunching statistics and bringing it to you in a detailed, entertaining fashion.
We have a diverse statistical database within the site as well as fantasy projections and rankings that will be tweaked daily throughout the summer months. Those tweaks will instantly show up on all the team pages and player pages so the information will always be current and thought provoking.
I am looking forward to this new chapter with you and we will have a wonderful time. Any feedback is always encouraged so feel free to drop me a line
Did you know that the 2013 Denver Broncos and the 2011 New Orleans Saints are the only two teams in the past five seasons to compile over 2000 total fantasy points. They both managed to score well over 500 points as well on the season.
On the flip side, were you aware that 2011 Rams are the only NFL team in the past five seasons that failed to score 200 points in a season. The miserable 193 points the Rams scored was without question, a season to forget in St. Louis thanks to a brutal 9 passing touchdowns and only 7 rushing touchdowns.
